What is Reiki

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a holistic, non-invasive, natural treatment.

The effects of a Reiki treatment, which uses gentle touch or hands held slightly away from the body, is to promote relaxation, reduce stress, pain and tension, and bring nourishing comfort, while supporting the healing process on all levels: physical, mental, emotional.

A grateful doctor’s thoughts on Reiki:

As a physician, I am constantly looking for new and better ways to help my patients either to improve their sense of well-being, treat symptoms of an underlying illness, or the side effects of a necessary medication.

To have Reiki as an available treatment option is nothing short of amazing.  My patients who are open to Reiki have experienced significant improvements in sleep, decreased pain, and a greater sense of well-being.

My own experience with Reiki has helped me to have less anxiety and find more joy in my life.  All these benefits also come with no side effects!   Dr Jennifer Pope, MD, Director, Supportive Medicine Program, Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, Levine Children's Hospital
